Q1. Will the open-frame design get damaged if water is spilled?
Light spills on the top surface can be wiped off like any standard keyboard. If liquid seeps inside, simply remove the keycaps and switches using the included puller and dry the area. The PCB is protected by a water-ripple reflector plate and a 1cm silicone base layer, so liquid from the sides or bottom will not directly reach the electronics. For heavy spills, disconnect power, turn off Bluetooth, and allow 24 hours of ventilation before reuse.
Q2. How durable is the KX68? What is its expected lifespan?
The KX68 is built for 5–10 years of daily use, suitable for gaming, programming, and high-volume office typing. Each Tapkx custom transparent switch is rated for 80–100 million actuations. As a premium custom keyboard, it is engineered for long-term reliability and consistent sound and feel.
Q3. Is the structure strong enough? What if it drops accidentally?
The KX68 open-frame chassis has undergone multiple structural strength tests and will not bend or crack under normal use. Four embedded anti-slip silicone feet keep the keyboard stable on the desk. However, due to the hollow design, extreme impacts or drops from height may still cause damage—similar to any electronic device. We recommend handling the keyboard with care to avoid accidental drops.
Q4. Will the hollow design cause echo, hollowness, or poor typing feel?
The KX68 uses a gasket-like internal structure where the plate, PCB, and dampening layers are suspended with soft silicone pads. This results in a soft, responsive, and refined typing feel. Each unit is also hand-tuned with calibrated stabilizers for consistent sound. Supported by the 1cm silicone base, the keyboard produces clean, balanced acoustics that remain stable over years of use.
Q5. Will dust easily accumulate in the open-frame gaps?
Open-frame keyboards naturally collect slightly more surface dust, but cleaning is simple. We include a fine-bristle cleaning brush that easily reaches between the frame gaps. The internal components are tightly sealed, so dust will not affect the PCB. Most dust settles on the exterior surface and can be removed quickly without difficulty.
